VSO Jitolee's national volunteering programme supports our partner organisations to promote volunteering within the East African region. This includes International Citizen Service, a DFID-funded youth volunteering scheme which sees Kenyans aged 18-25 working alongside young people from the UK for 3 months.
National volunteering enables citizens to achieve their right to participate in local and national development, thereby improving their quality of life.
This programme currently works within VSO Jitolee’s programme focus areas – education, health and secure livelihoods – to strengthen the volunteer management capacity of our partners. We also engage with government, civil society and the private sector to address new and emerging developmental issues that relate to VSO Jitolee’s focus areas.
VSO Jitolee is implementing a youth volunteering programme in Kenya - find out more about International Citizen Service here.
